About Marie
Marie Henderson lives with her husband in Palmerston North, New Zealand and has enjoyed a long and varied career as a Registered Nurse. In September 2021 she was diagnosed with 2 primary malignancies in her right breast; one being an aggressive Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) which was treated by radical mastectomy and removal of lymph nodes in November 2021. Unfortunately, chemotherapy was withdrawn after just one administration in January 2022 because of severe complications, but she has received all 15 of the planned radiotherapy sessions. She is now adjusting to a new ‘normal’ with regular surgical and oncology follow-ups and medications for the next 5 years.
Right from her initial diagnosis Marie had a very strong impression that this cancer journey was to be a “gift” to her. She shares her blogs for 2 different levels of reader interest.
